Springbrook Behavioral Hospital is a 66-bed inpatient mental health facility located in Hernando County,  approximately 40 miles North of Tampa and 60 miles West of Orlando. We offer 24-hour psychiatric services provided by licensed professionals in various disciplines. Our hospital offers a variety of programs that can be tailored to patient needs, including an older adult program, dual diagnosis treatment, and general psychiatric care.

Springbrook Behavioral Hospital strives to strengthen family communications, enhance self-confidence and help patients and families cope with psychiatric illnesses. We are confident that once a concern is addressed with us, we can satisfy and resolve any issue.

Springbrook Behavioral Hospital is the only hospital in the county that is a designated Baker Act-receiving facility. Our mission is to improve the health and well being of individuals, families and communities impacted by mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and other related social problems. Our continuum of care is cost-efficient, culturally competent, and comprehensive. We work with patients at each phase of recovery to help them achieve long-term success and happiness.

Intensive Treatment Services also known as Critical Care Unit & Adult Psychiatric Services

Intensive Treatment Services, also known as Critical Care Unit, provides crisis stabilization and symptom reduction for individuals 18 years or older who are in acute psychiatric distress. This service treats both voluntary and involuntary patients in acute mental health crisis who require immediate assistance in a safe, comfortable environment.


Eclipse Dual Diagnosis Program

The Eclipse Program is designed for those suffering from the co-occurring disorders of mental illness and substance abuse problems.

Bridges Senior Program

The Bridges Program at Springbrook Hospital is designed to meet the specific needs of adults over 55 years old suffering from serious mental health issues and/or dual diagnosis.


Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Our Partial Hospitalization Program is a treatment option for patients who do not require the intensity of inpatient hospitalization, but require more than the traditional outpatient therapy and medication management. The PHP program counsels psychiatric patients, substance abuse patients, and dual diagnosis patients.

Springbrook Behavioral Hospital has programs that address a broad spectrum of mental health issues. Crisis care services are also available for patients in acute mental health crisis who require immediate assistance.

FAQ

Each patient’s situation is unique, so each treatment plan is individualized to each patient’s needs.  Our physicians and the treatment team work collaboratively with each patient and family to decide on a course and length of treatment, which typically ranges to a few days to a few weeks.

Smoking is not permitted in the building, but a secure, outside smoking area is available for patients who can safely participate in scheduled smoke breaks.  Fresh air breaks are also provided for patients that don’t smoke.
